
SorTech AG develops, manufactures and distributes absorption chillers for cooling and air-conditioning applications in the small and medium scale performance range up to a 75 kW cooling capacity. SorTech's technology uses heat as primary energy for cold production instead of electricity. Different kinds of driving heat, such as solar (solar air-conditioning or solar cooling), district heating or any form of waste heat (micro- or cogeneration) are equally suitable for driving the process. In 2003 SorTech won the first-prize in the start-up competition sponsored by the "Sparkasse" association, Stern, McKinsey and ZDF. The company is located in Halle an der Saale, Germany.
